Youth Invited to Explore the Science of Gardening at Free Natchitoches Event

WHAT: The Community Youth Gardening Exploration Event, a free interactive hands-on experience designed for students in grades K-12. Youth will explore the science behind gardening through engaging questions like how seeds germinate in water, why certain vegetable flowers bear fruit, and what causes compost piles to heat up. The event concludes with complimentary food and refreshments.

WHO: Hosted jointly by the Louisiana 10th Judicial Drug Court and Christ the King Lutheran Church.

WHEN: Saturday, June 20, 2026 9 a.m.–11 a.m. (Refreshments and food to follow)

WHERE: 311 Royal St. Natchitoches, LA

WHY: To provide local youth with a brief, engaging journey into the wonderful world of gardening and agricultural science.
