The Natchitoches Police Department has received the newest Taser model following a two-week officer training period.

The newly acquired Taser 10 model features ten separate shots, which allows for follow-up deployments and provides additional opportunities for successful contact. The equipment upgrade also expands the maximum effective distance to 40 feet, enabling officers to maintain greater physical distance from suspects in order to de-escalate hostile scenarios.
