Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies assigned as School Resource Officers joined other law enforcement officers from across the state to attend the 35th Annual Louisiana D.A.R.E. Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.
During the conference, several individuals with ties to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office were recognized for their outstanding dedication, service, and achievements.
(Ret.) Captain Deputy Wendy Llorens was presented the Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers Association Orleans District Recognition Award for her outstanding service, dedication, and continued support of the Orleans District.
Annaliece Romero, a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School and the daughter of NPSO Deputy Jessica Roberson, received the Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers Association Citizen Scholarship in recognition of her academic achievement, leadership, character, and commitment to community involvement.
Additionally, Deputy Cpl. and School Resource Officer Lorie Woodard was honored with her 3-Year D.A.R.E. Officer Service Pin, recognizing her continued commitment to teaching and mentoring students through the D.A.R.E. program.
Deputy Sgt. David Dorsey and School Resource Officer was also honored and received his 15-year D.A.R.E. Officer Service Pin for his dedication and commitment to the D.A.R.E. program.
Conference attendees also participated in the Evening of Blue Excellence Banquet, which honored D.A.R.E. officers from across Louisiana for their dedication and service to students, schools, and communities throughout the state.
Sheriff Stuart Wright congratulated each of the honorees on their well-deserved recognition.
“The D.A.R.E. program continues to make a positive impact on young people by building trust, promoting good decision-making, and strengthening relationships between law enforcement and our schools,” said Sheriff Wright. “We are extremely proud of Wendy, Lorie, David, and Annaliece for their accomplishments. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving others are a reflection of the values we strive to uphold at the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
