The Natchitoches Parish Council approved two agenda items during a special-called meeting Aug. 3.
Council members approved authorizing the parish president or designee to sign all necessary paperwork allowing Diversified Land Management to conduct a 3D geophysical survey on behalf of Seitel Data Ltd. over certain parish-owned or managed lands.
During discussion, council members asked whether the agreement would serve as a template for similar requests in the future and raised questions about language addressing potential property damages. The agreement was approved following discussion.
The Parish Council also authorized the parish president or designee to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (CEA) with Aethon United BR LP for the repair and improvement of portions of Bethany Road in Natchitoches Parish.
According to discussion during the meeting, the agreement was brought back before the Parish Council because of a company name change from the previously approved agreement. Officials said the terms of the agreement remain the same, with the only change being the company’s name. The updated agreement will facilitate repairs and improvements to Bethany Road to support safe public travel, drainage and temporary access for the company’s oil and gas operations while providing a public benefit.
Both agenda items were approved unanimously before the meeting was adjourned.
