Natchitoches Parish Candidates Elected Without Opposition in 2026

In Louisiana, a candidate is elected without opposition when qualifying closes and no more candidates have qualified than the number of seats available. For a single-seat office, that means only one candidate qualified. The same rule applies to multi-seat races — for example, if three aldermen are to be elected and exactly three candidates qualify, all three are elected without opposition. Because Louisiana does not allow write-in candidates, there is no later opportunity for another candidate to enter the race.
