A hay field fire near Clarence burned approximately 6 acres and some farm equipment before it was contained, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

At 4:10 p.m., Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s deputies and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District No. 3, with mutual aid assistance from Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District No. 9, were dispatched by the NATCOM 911 Center to a reported hay field and farm equipment fire in the 200 block of George Thomas Road near Clarence.

There were no reported injuries.

The fire was contained by 6 p.m.

Deputy S. Kennedy was on scene on behalf of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
