Fresh from a victory against Airline High, the NCHS Lady Chiefs Volleyball team played with their customary class, grit and determination Wednesday, September 2 before a full gym at the season’s first home match vs. the Marksville Lady Tigers. Unfortunately, the Chiefs fell to the Tigers three sets to one in a hotly contested match that saw the Chiefs fighting hard until the end.
While the results were not as we would have hoped, Lady Chief Volleyball has set an enviable record of excellence on and off the court. Each member of the team is a fixture on the NCHS Honor Roll and exemplifies everything that a student-athlete should be on the court and in the classroom.
The Natchitoches Parish Journal would also like to commend the NCHS Student section. In every match or game I have attended over the years, the student section filled the bleachers and kept up a vociferous level of support akin to an erupting volcano.
Lady Chief Volleyball is in action at home on Tuesday September 8 vs. Loyola. The JV match will begin at 5:00 and the varsity match will begin at 6:00.
