City of Natchitoches issues boil advisory for areas affected by West Natchitoches water outage

The City of Natchitoches has issued a boil advisory for West Natchitoches and all areas affected by the water outage on Sept. 7. The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to boil tap water for at least one full minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or food preparation. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.

The boil advisory is being issued as a precaution following the water outage while the City works to ensure the water system meets all required safety standards.

The City of Natchitoches will continue to monitor the situation and will notify the public as soon as the boil advisory can safely be lifted.
