Due to a water main break and resulting water outage, L.P. Vaughn, Natchitoches Jr. High and Natchitoches Provisional Learning Center students were dismissed beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9.

NSU E-Lab and NSU Middle Lab students were dismissed at 11:15 a.m., followed by Natchitoches Central High School students at noon.

Students were released by bus or parent pickup. Natchitoches Central High School students who drive themselves to and from school were permitted to leave campus at dismissal.

The Natchitoches Parish School Board said updates were being posted in real time as each school was affected in an effort to get students home as quickly and safely as possible.

The school board said it will provide an update regarding Sept. 10 as soon as more information becomes available.
