Sickle Cell Awareness event held at MLK Recreation Center

Outpatient Medical Center (OMC) will partner with the Natchitoches Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to help present the Annual Sickle Cell Awareness event on Sept. 19 at the MLK Recreation Center in Natchitoches.

The event is designed to educate and inform community members about sickle cell disease, including its signs, symptoms, impact on individuals and families, and the importance of awareness. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from healthcare professionals, community advocates, and guest speakers who will share personal stories to help increase understanding of the challenges faced by those living with sickle cell disease while encouraging community support and awareness.

OMC invites community members of all ages to attend this free event and join the effort to promote health awareness throughout Natchitoches Parish.
