FAUNA launches naming campaign for Edwina & Sam Friedman pet adoption, welfare center

Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals (FAUNA) has launched Hope Has a Place, a naming campaign supporting the development of the Edwina & Sam Friedman Pet Adoption & Welfare Center. The campaign will help expand animal care, increase adoption opportunities, and strengthen FAUNA’s ability to serve animals and families across Natchitoches Parish for generations to come.

The new facility is being designed to provide safe housing, medical care, and adoption services for homeless and vulnerable animals while creating a welcoming space where the community can connect, gather, volunteer, and support FAUNA’s mission. Proceeds from the campaign will help fund the outfitting of the facility and sustain the long-term operation of animal care services throughout Natchitoches Parish.

“This campaign is about more than recognition,” said Leah Forsyth, President of the FAUNA Board of Directors. “It’s about building a sustainable future for animal welfare and giving people a meaningful way to be part of that future.”

Hope has a Place is organized around three distinct components: Spaces of Hope, Symbols of Hope, and Circle of Hope. The campaign includes naming opportunities throughout the facility and park-inspired grounds, personalized tributes and memorials, and recurring sponsorships that help fund daily operations, animal care, and community programs. Opportunities are available across a wide range of giving levels for individuals, families, organizations, and businesses.

Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals (FAUNA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving animal welfare throughout Natchitoches Parish through rescue, adoption, advocacy, community outreach, education, and spay/neuter and TNR initiatives. In addition to helping homeless and vulnerable animals, FAUNA works with the community to strengthen it through programs and partnerships that promote responsible pet ownership, reduce suffering, and help animals receive care and find a safe haven until they can be placed in loving homes. The organization is supported primarily through donor contributions and volunteer efforts.
