Economic Development Announcement Set Tuesday at Parish Port

Louisiana Central, the North Louisiana Economic Partnership and the Natchitoches Economic Development Alliance will hold a special economic development announcement at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Natchitoches Parish Port in Campti. The announcement concerns a new opportunity for the Natchitoches Parish Port and the Central Louisiana Regional Port through Louisiana Economic Development’s FastSites program. The port is located at 5690 Highway 486 in Campti.
Parish Council Hears Property Tax Protests Tonight

The Natchitoches Parish Council meets at 5:30 p.m. today in Room 211 of the Natchitoches Parish Courthouse, 200 Church St., to receive protests and hear complaints on 2026 property values fixed by the Natchitoches Parish Assessor. Tonight’s session follows the Sept. 14 deadline for filing written appeals with the parish president. The council holds its regular monthly meeting on the third Monday of each month, and meetings are streamed on the parish’s YouTube channel.

St. Peter Baptist Church in Campti will celebrate its 159th church anniversary at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The Rev. Alfred Williams III is pastor. Special guests include the Rev. Byron King, assistant pastor, along with the choir and church family of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church of Clarence. The public is invited.
