MS Support Group Meets Oct. 6 at the Library
MS Support Group Release
A multiple sclerosis support group will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Natchitoches Parish Library. The group is open to people with MS along with their family members and caregivers, and is meant as a space to share experiences, find encouragement and connect with others facing the same diagnosis.
Downtown Road Closures Friday for Car Show

Several downtown streets will close Friday, Oct. 2, for the 20th annual Natchitoches Classic Car Show, the City of Natchitoches said.
Closing at 6 a.m.: Touline Street from Second to Front, Rue Beauport along the riverbank, Front Street from Trudeau to Church, Trudeau Street from Front to the back of The Venue, Saint Denis Street from Front to the Exchange Bank drive-through, Horn Street from Front to the Exchange Bank drive-through, and Second Street from Church to Ducournau.
Closing at 9:30 a.m.: Front Street from Church to Washington at the corner of the Pub, and Lafayette Street up to the condo parking lot.
Closing at 6 p.m.: Saint Denis Street from Front to Second, Horn Street from Front to Second, and Washington Street from the fence at Patio Cantina & Grill.
Trudeau Street will carry two-way traffic Friday and Saturday. Streets stay closed through Saturday and reopen when the show ends. Drivers are asked to watch for barricades and road signs.
Voter Registration Deadline Is Monday

Monday, Oct. 5, is the last day to register in person or by mail to vote in the Nov. 3 election. Voters who register online have until Oct. 13. The ballot includes congressional, Public Service Commission and judicial seats. The Natchitoches Parish Registrar of Voters is at 200 Church St., Office 103, and the phone number is 318-357-2211. Online registration is available through the Secretary of State at geauxvote.com. To register, a person must be 18 by Election Day, a U.S. citizen, a resident of the parish and not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction.
