The Natchitoches Parish School Board announced on Sept. 30 that Natchitoches Central High School dismissed students beginning at 9 a.m. due to a water outage caused by planned water main work in the area. The district was previously assured that the planned water main work would not impact Natchitoches Central High School. However, the work impacted the school and resulted in a water outage.

Buses will be released, and students who drive themselves to school will be permitted to leave. Parents and guardians should make arrangements for students who need to be picked up as soon as possible.

The district said it was notified of the impact Wednesday morning and apologized for the short notice and inconvenience to students, families and staff.
