
The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office recently recognized three deputies with “Excellence of the Quarter” awards during a ceremony at the NPSO Human Resources Office.
Sheriff Stuart Wright presented the awards, recognizing each recipient for outstanding performance, professionalism, compassion and dedication to serving the citizens of Natchitoches Parish.
Deputy Patricia Dearborne of NPSO Criminal Records/Warrants Operations was recognized for exceptional customer service, professionalism and dedication to the Sheriff’s Office. She remains calm, composed and courteous during challenging interactions and serves others with patience and a smile.
Dearborne was also recognized as a dependable and dedicated team player who helps wherever she is needed. Her attention to detail, particularly when processing paperwork, reflects the pride she takes in her responsibilities. Her positive attitude, dependability and commitment to serving others exemplify NPSO’s core values of Teamwork and Integrity.
Deputy Cpl. Sloan Dieter of the NPSO Drug Enforcement Unit was recognized for exceptional dedication, leadership and commitment to excellence in service to the Sheriff’s Office and community.
Dieter consistently exceeds the expectations of his duties through proactive problem-solving, sound decision-making and the effective use of his specialized skills. He also continues to pursue training and professional development to strengthen his knowledge and abilities.
Dieter is a dependable and trustworthy employee who accepts additional responsibilities, assumes leadership roles when needed and provides guidance and support to fellow employees. In addition to his assignment with the Drug Enforcement Unit, he serves as a drone operator, a member of the Natchitoches SWAT Unit and a member of the NPSO Training Staff.
Deputy Communications Specialist Mason Rachal of NPSO Communications Operations/911 was recognized for outstanding performance, compassion and dedication to serving the citizens of Natchitoches Parish and NPSO deputies.
In less than a year in Communications, Rachal has demonstrated growth and an ability to learn quickly. She has developed the skills and confidence needed to handle the responsibilities of emergency communications while providing a calm and reassuring presence during difficult moments for callers.
Within a few months of completing her CPR training, Rachal successfully guided multiple callers through lifesaving CPR instructions. During high-stress situations, she remains composed, communicates clearly and reassures callers that help is available.
Rachal also assists her coworkers without being asked, helping manage the workload and ease pressure on those around her. Her initiative, dependability and willingness to help have made her a valued member of the Communications team.
“Each recipient has shown tremendous effort and care in their work, and we’re proud to recognize their accomplishments,” said Human Resources Director Kellie Hataway-Carnline.
The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office congratulated Dearborne, Dieter and Rachal on the recognition and thanked them for their service and continued dedication to the citizens of Natchitoches Parish.
