Voters in Natchitoches Parish are preparing to cast ballots for the office of Member of School Board, District 8.
While the school board serves the entire parish system, governance is divided into distinct single-member representation districts. Because school board district lines follow specific demographic and census boundary plans rather than general municipal lines, electors across seven designated precincts are eligible to participate in this contest.
The candidates qualifying for the School Board District 8 seat are:

Linda Davidson (Democrat)
J.D. Samuel Jr. (Democrat)
Understanding the District 8 Boundary Map
To help clarify voter eligibility in the School Board race, the Natchitoches School Board Plan 2022 map illustrates the reach and boundaries established for District 8:
The Tan/Beige Field (District 8 Core):
The wide swath outlined in red and shaded in tan represents the adopted boundaries of District 8. Any registered voter residing within this designated area falls under the jurisdiction of School Board District 8 and is eligible to vote in this contest.
Northwestern Corridor and Parish Line:
District 8 stretches across the northwestern expanse of Natchitoches Parish, bordered by Red River Parish to the north and Bienville Parish to the northeast.
Key Landmarks and Reach:
Waterways and River Bends: The Red River snakes directly through the upper portion of the district, with District 8 encompassing substantial acreage along both banks before adjoining adjacent school board districts to the east and south.
Western Reach and Rural Corridors:
The western edge borders De Soto Parish, extending outward through expansive timberland, farmland, and rural residential stretches along primary parish roads and highways.
Southern Border:
On its southern perimeter, District 8 adjoins the northern boundaries of Districts 1, 6, and other central parish board seats, uniting northern agricultural acreage with outlying residential communities.
