Boil Water Advisory issued for parts of Natchitoches Parish following water main repair

The City of Natchitoches has issued a boil water advisory affecting multiple roads, neighborhoods, and communities following repairs to a broken 10-inch water main in the Grand Ecore and Highway 6 East area.

City officials confirmed that repairs to the damaged water main have been completed. However, a boil advisory remains in effect until further notice while water quality testing is conducted to ensure the water is safe for consumption.

The advisory affects residents and businesses in several areas of Natchitoches Parish, including the Village of Clarence and the Natchitoches Parish Port.

The following locations are under the boil advisory:

  • Hidden Hills Mobile Home Park, including Melissa Place, Beverly Rise, and Robert Circle
  • Maryland Road
  • Hargis Road
  • Rex Waterwell Road
  • Dawn Street
  • Boston Fowler Road
  • O’Con Street
  • Payne Subdivision, including Payne Drive, Michelle Drive, John Drive, Cherie Loop, Keith Drive, Mary Drive, and Miller Drive
  • Brickyard Road
  • Hoover Road
  • Buck’s Grocery Road
  • Pridgen Road
  • St. Savior Church Road
  • Industrial Avenue
  • Holden Road
  • Grand Ecore Spur Road
  • Tauzin Island Road
  • Natchitoches Parish Port
  • Village of Clarence

Residents in the affected areas should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, food preparation, or brushing teeth. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative.

Although the water main repair has been completed, the advisory is a precautionary measure while officials await the results of water testing.

The City of Natchitoches emphasized that the advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe for consumption and an official notice is issued lifting the advisory.

City officials thanked residents for their patience and cooperation throughout the repair process and said additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Residents with questions or concerns may contact the City of Natchitoches Utility Department at (318) 357-3850.

Until the city officially lifts the advisory, residents and businesses in the affected areas should continue following boil water precautions.
