The Natchitoches Police Department Citizens Academy is an 8-week program designed to provide participants with direct exposure to law enforcement operations and public safety practices. Members of the class met once a week where they got firsthand experience in offense and arrest report writing, D.W.I. offenses, juvenile crimes, evidence collection, digital forensics, internal affairs, criminal investigations, use of force, traffic stops and other police-related training.
This program creates an opportunity for residents to engage directly with our public safety professionals, gain insight into law enforcement operations, and strengthen the connection between our City and the community we serve.
