On September 25, 2025, Natchitoches attorney Jared Dunahoe was sworn in as the 70th President of the Louisiana Association for Justice (LAJ).
Founded in 1953, LAJ is Louisiana’s largest voluntary statewide association of attorneys, representing more than 900 members. Its membership is primarily composed of trial attorneys, with the majority of its members representing individuals and consumers in civil matters.
LAJ is committed to preserving Louisiana’s civil justice system and ensuring open access to the courts. The organization advocates for the protection of individual rights, the promotion of individual and corporate responsibility, and the advancement of high ethical and educational standards within the legal profession.
Dunahoe is a partner at Dunahoe Law Firm in Natchitoches, where his practice focuses on representing individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries and families who have lost loved ones as a result of the negligence of others.
A 2004 graduate of Northwestern State University, Dunahoe earned his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in 2007.
Dunahoe has been actively involved in LAJ for many years and has served on its Executive Committee since 2023. He serves as co-chair of the LAJ Legislative Committee and vice-chair of the LAJ Shreveport Regional Membership Committee. He previously served as chair of the LAJ Auto Torts Section for 2023–2024.
In addition to his work with LAJ, Dunahoe is a member of the Natchitoches Bar Association and serves on the Natchitoches Parish Board of Election Supervisors and the Natchitoches Historic District Commission. He also serves as a gubernatorial appointee to the Board of Directors of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts.
As LAJ’s 70th President, Dunahoe will lead the statewide organization in its continued efforts to support Louisiana’s legal profession, preserve access to the civil justice system, and uphold the rights of individuals throughout the state.
