The City of Natchitoches has announced that the closure of Highland Park Drive near the intersection of Virginia Street has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

The closure was originally scheduled for Monday, November 2, but has been postponed to allow for repairs to an Atmos Energy gas line.

City officials anticipate the closure will last only one day, with Highland Park Drive expected to reopen to traffic by nightfall Wednesday.

Through traffic will be required to detour around the work site using adjacent city streets, including Rowena Street, North Fifth Street, Virginia Avenue and Virginia Street.

Motorists are urged to obey all warning signs and exercise caution when traveling through the area.
