The Natchitoches Veterans and Memorial Park, Inc., will hold the annual Veterans Day Program on Wednesday, November 11, at 4:00 P.M. in the Veterans Park. If raining, the program will be held in the VFW/American Legion Post at 400 St. Denis Street. The Northwestern State University Color Guard will present the colors. We will open with the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegience.
This year’s Keynote Speaker for the 4 P.M. Program will be Lieutenant Colonel John Hatley, U S Army. He will share some of his military experiences and reflect on the importance of celebrating Veterans Day. LTC Hatley is a native of Natchitoches, but has traveled extensively while serving in the U S Army. Master of Ceremonies will be Jerry McWherter, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of The Natchitoches Veterans Memorial Park, Inc.
New Honor Bricks will be dedicated and the list of Honorees will be presented by Trish Gilbert, VFW Auxiliary Member, and member of Veterans and Memorial Park, Inc. Attendees will be able to view these dedicated bricks before and after the program. Beautiful Valor Quilts, made by members of The Cane River Stitchers , will be presented to distinguished Veterans of Natchitoches Parish by Marylynne Marquardt and Margaret Kilcoyne.
Please make every effort to attend this year’s Veterans Day Program on Wednesday, November 11, and help us give a special tribute to all our Natchitoches Parish Veterans. Without our men and women in uniform, we would not have the freedoms and rights we do in the United States.
Rain location is 400 St. Denis VFW/American Legion Post Hall
