Parish Compactor Station access limited.

Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin announces that the closure of State Route LA-493 by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will have an impact on citizens who utilize the Parish compactor station located on LA-493 near Melrose.
Earlier today, DOTD announced that LA-493 will be closed to through traffic between its intersections with State highways LA-1 and LA-119 beginning on Monday, July 13, 2015, for a period of approximately two months, due to road construction work.
The Parish operates a compactor station that is located within the limits of this construction project.
DOTD has advised that citizens may access the Parish compactor station from only State highways LA-119 and LA-484.  No public access will be available to the compactor station from State highway LA-1.
Citizens may contact the Natchitoches Parish Solid Waste Department at (318) 238-3704 with any questions relative to the compactor station.
Questions relative to the road construction project or detour routes should be addressed to LA DOTD at (318) 357-3158.
