Volleyball – Dates set for 2015 Digfest

The Northwestern State volleyball program’s largest annual fund-raiser now has a date attached to it.
The annual Digfest will be held Aug. 8-9 at Point Place Marina, located on Cane River Lake, south of Natchitoches.

“Our new staff is excited to continue the annual Digfest tradition,” said assistant coach Alicia Roth, the tournament organizer. “It’s a great way for our team to connect with the community and get people interested in volleyball. It gives our fans a chance to interact with our players and the opportunity for us to grow our fan base. It should be a fun event for everyone.”

Entry fees are $100 per team and each team can be composed of up to six players with four playing at a time. One female must be present on the court at all times, and all teams are guaranteed at least three matches throughout the day.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, including Level Two giveaway sponsorships ($300) and Level One banner sponsorships ($150). Both sponsorships include a custom company courtside banner with Level Two sponsors’ company logos printed on promotional materials.

A Level Three title sponsorship also is available for $750 and includes a custom courtside banner and promotional printed items that will be distributed throughout the community in addition to obtaining the title for Digfest.

Each participant will receive an award for entering, and the top two teams will earn NSU merchandise.

Complimentary food and drinks will be available for participants and spectators. All attendees are welcome to purchase any items offered by the marina, which is located at 1209 Patrick Road in Natchitoches.

Teams will be able to register online at NSUDemons.com. For more information, contact Roth at (318) 413-4726 or via email at rotha@nsula.edu.
