NPSO Deputies, Robeline Police and Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office investigating Fatal Double-Shooting in the Robeline Community.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives, Robeline Police and the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office are currently investigating a fatal double-shooting in the Robeline community in west Natchitoches Parish according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.

On Monday morning January 25th at approximately 8:04am, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office received a welfare concern call in the 200 block of Pine Street in Robeline, La.

Robeline Police was dispatched to the call arriving at approximately 8:08am.

Robeline Police gained entry into the residence, discovering a 23 year old male and a 30 year old female suffering from apparent single gunshot wounds in the master bedroom of the mobile home.

NPSO Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division along with Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS Paramedics and the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Natchitoches Parish Coroners Office.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

The female victim was transported to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to an Alexandria hospital in critical condition.

According to Chief of Investigations Detective Greg Dunn, there were no signs of forced entry into the residence and a handgun was found at the scene.

Detectives remained at the scene until approximately 2pm, collecting information and gathering evidence in connection with the investigation.

The names of the victims are currently being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

The investigation is currently continuing.
