Nearly forty musicians will be rocking and rolling during this musical tribute to Hardrick Rivers on Tuesday, February 16th from 6-9 p.m. in the main hall of the Events Center. Tickets are $50 at the door. Once inside there will be food, a cash bar and merchandise including T-shirts, CD’s and more.

A long-time diabetic, Hardrickhasn’t been able to play or work since having a surgery amputating his left leg at mid-calf. What started out as a way to show appreciation and gain support for a friend has turned into an all out bash honoring one of Natchitoches’ most well known and beloved musicians. John Litzenburg and Rodney Harrington started planning the event by putting the word out to local musicians to sign up to jam for the benefit.

“John has been trampled by people who want to donate their time and their talent to make it an event worth attending,” said Harrington. “Never again will all of these artists all be on the same stage, at the same time, on the same evening.”

The Hardrick Rivers Revue will be the house band for the benefit concert that will feature musicians from Billy O’Con and Badd Apple,Breaktime for Francis,Cane Mutiny,Fat Chance,Goodlowe Brothers,Jerad Bridges,
Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs, Justin Merritt,

Kelli Roberts Band,LaCour Trio, Louisiana Sidemen and T-Funk.

People have been calling to find out how they can help and the answer is simple: come to the event, give $50 and show support.

“There is no one in Natchitoches who has played more benefits over the years than Hardrick,” said Harrington. “We could tell him there was a benefit and the only questions he would ask is where and when. Now it is the time to show up for him.”
