There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms across Deep East Texas and portions of North Louisiana this afternoon. A lingering frontal boundary will trigger showers and thunderstorms across the region this afternoon. Some storms may become severe with hail being the primary threat and damaging winds a secondary threat. Widespread severe weather is not expected. Any storms that become severe are expected to be isolated.
Aside from hail and damaging winds, locally heavy rainfall may be possible with some storms. However, widespread rainfall totals are not expected to exceed an inch and a half.
