CASA Awareness Social

CASA is an acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocates. They are appointed by the Judge of the Court to advocate for Abused and/or Neglected Court, who are deemed by the Court to be a Child In Need of Care.

The Volunteer Advocate’s sole mission is to advocate to the Judge and court as to what is in the Best Interest of the Child. Our volunteers are that, they are not paid, thus the Judge and the Court feel they are getting an unbiased opinion from the volunteer as to What Is in the Best Interest of the Child.

The CASA Awareness Social has been put together to explain and inform the public about a serious problem that our communities face. It is a pleasant time for all, about a serious subject. It is also a fundraiser for our CASA Kids. There are situations and needs that arise that money needs to be spent on behalf of these children (that our Grant does not pay for), examples a Bed/ Bedding, Glasses, needed classes) thus leaving our CASA to Fundraise for unrestricted funds, so they can be spent on or for our CASA Kids.

We will have Music (by Steve Wells), a catered supper (by Red’s Ribs), a Silent Auction and Speakers . Our Keynote Speaker will be Dr.Jim Henderson President of NSU.
