Alliance Compressors plant in Natchitoches received the Emerson COO International Safety Award for 2016 at the Emerson Corporate Planning Conference in St. Louis Mo. Wednesday night, Oct. 19.

Reflecting on the honor of this award Plant Manager Ken Gardner said, “It’s not about winning a trophy or the recognition itself.  Winning with safety is going home at the end of the day to be with our families and friends.  Perhaps we are a little less energetic or downright tired, but injury free and safe – now that’s winning.   So, if we all fully embrace the idea that we can work injury free each and every day and by definition, we all go home winners every day.  For that, no trophy is needed…”

Over the last 5 years Alliance has undergone a tremendous culture shift where the safety of its employees is not a priority but a value. Alliance employs over 600 workers during its peak period each year as part of the seasonal air conditioning business. Alliance has worked over 7 million hours without a lost time accident. In the last two fiscal years, it has achieved the milestone of working over 1 million hours without a recordable injury on two separate occasions.

Gardner said, “Such impressive results demonstrates ‘buy-in’ by our employees and commitment of our leadership team to excellence. Vince Lombardi said it best, that when you practice for perfection, you catch excellence. At Alliance we practice for perfection (zero injuries) each and every day.”

Alliance recognizes and appreciates the tireless and continuous efforts of its workforce to work accident free.  Every individual decision and action taken by its employees produces the impressive safety results Alliance has seen.

Alliance Compressors is a joint venture between Emerson, Trane and Lennox International formed in 1996 with the purpose of developing, manufacturing, and marketing 1-16 scroll refrigerant compressors. Scroll compressors are a primary component in commercial and residential air conditioning systems.  Production of compressors began at Alliance in 1998 and since that time Alliance has produced over 20 million compressors and received numerous awards including the Emerson President’s Operational Excellence Award in 2015.
