Earlier today at 11:04 a.m., Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire District #9, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS, Louisiana State Police, and Life Air responded to a two-vehicle injury crash involving a log truck and a pickup truck on US-71 near M&M Grocery in Campti.
The crash is being investigated by Campti Police Department.
The operator of the 2014 Peterbilt truck was reportedly uninjured.
The operator of the 2013 Chevrolet pickup truck pulling a utility trailer was extricated from the vehicle by Natchitoches Parish Fire District #9 Rescue, treated by NRMC EMS and airlifted from the scene by Life Air to University Health with serious injuries.
NPSO Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire District# 9 and Louisiana State Police assisted with traffic while the crash was being investigated.
The names of the operators have not been released.

I was traveling on Hwy 71 yesterday and I didn’t witness the wreck but I did see the wreckage. The person was being rescued from the pickup truck. I saw the helicopter waiting on the highway to airlift the individual. I did say a prayer for those that were involved.
