Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a Winn Parish man in connection with an automobile and residential burglary in the Goldonna community. Goldonna Police responded to a purse being reported on the side of the roadway near the intersections of Hwy. 156 and Godwin Road Oct. 27.
The purse was returned to the owner. Later that afternoon, Goldonna Police received information that some items owned by the purse owner were discovered in a vehicle in Winn Parish.
The purse owner was contacted and discovered credit cards and keys were taken from the purse, which was left in her 2008 Chevrolet Colorado parked at the her residence in the 2700 block of Hwy. 479 near Goldonna.
Winn Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were contacted and recovered the stolen items in Winn Parish.
The complainant recalled seeing headlights in her yard between 1-1:30 a.m., but when her husband went to check, the vehicle had gone.
NPSO Patrol Division deputies assisted Goldonna Police and turned the case over to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division.
Detectives identified Justin Carl Winn, 20, of Winnfield as a suspect.
Deputies responded to the 2900 block of Hwy. 479 in Goldonna Nov. 1 in connection with a residential burglary.
The complainant learned from her financial institution that someone was attempting to use her mother’s credit card at a Campti bank.
She checked her residence, discovering credit cards, $40 in coins, keys and medication were taken from the residence.
Detectives reviewed video surveillance, identifying Justin Carl Winn as a suspect, who was attempting to fraudulently use the credit card at the bank. They learned he was being held in the Winn Parish jail on unrelated charges.
Deputies went to Winn Parish Dec14 and transported Winn, 20, of the 100 block of Rufus Long Road in Winnfield to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center, where he was charged with 2-counts of Simple Burglary, and 1-count of Identity Theft.
Winn has been transported back to Winn Parish and will be released to Natchitoches authorities upon serving his jail sentence.
