The Louisiana Scholars’ College Spring graduation continued a 30 year tradition of academic excellence as 21 seniors completed their studies Thursday, May 11th at NSU’s AA Fredericks Auditorium. The new graduates are an eclectic group who hail from every corner of Louisiana as well as Texas, Wisconsin and Canada. Their future plans include teaching, medical and veterinary school, the ministry, and graduate studies.

It is a long standing tradition of Scholars’ College that the graduating seniors choose 2 faculty members and 2 of their fellow seniors to address the assembly. This year’s speakers were Dr. Massimo Bezoari and Dr. Davina McClain from the faculty and Christopher Das Neves and Natalie Jaeger from the seniors.

In a surprise presentation Dr. Lisa Wolffe was honored for her 30 years of service, spanning the entire history of the LSC.

The Louisiana Scholars’ College, located on the NSU campus, serves as the state’s only designated honors college. It features a Great Books curriculum combined with courses in math and the sciences which makes it a truly unique educational experience.

The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes to extend its best wishes to the seniors of the Louisiana Scholars’ College upon their graduation. Godspeed in your future endeavors!
