Karen Conley will host “My Experience with Self-Direction” Workshops, sponsored by the Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council and co-hosted by Families Helping Families. A workshop will be held in Natchitoches Saturday, July 15 from 10 am – noon at the Natchitoches Parish Library.

Do you have questions about your ability to self-direct your waiver services and how you and your family could benefit?

Self-Direction gives waiver participants the control to choose the people they want to provide supports for them and in some cases, the ability to provide higher wages for their Direct Support Professional (DSP). However, Self-Direction also comes with more responsibility.

Come hear how one individual benefits from self-direction and manages the responsibilities. This opportunity will allow you to get any questions you have answered from a personal level and give you specifics of how the family benefited after switching to self-directed waivered services.
