The City of Natchitoches will hold a public hearing at today 4:30 p.m. at the Natchitoches Arts Center, 716 Second Street, Natchitoches, Louisiana. The purpose of the hearing is to explain the proposed need for the water and sewer rate increase. All persons interested are encouraged to attend.

  1. welcome to the world of “Robeline” we pay way to much for water and brown
    water at that,you can’t drink it nasty to bathe in and you may even lose it for a week during Christmas.

  2. I live 2+ hrs away.
    I lived in Natchitoches for 20 yrs. Grands there since 1930s. Very familiar with it.
    The water at Vienna Bend is terrible. It rots out appliances and is totally unfit to drink. I don’t even give it to my pets.
    When I lived there I’d go to Kisatchie to get water for consumption, cooking. I now buy water for the same. We used to receive pink notices that during a period of time, the water was unfit to use. Great, it was after the fact. Lotta good that does.
    Why is the water so nasty?
    If you’re raising rates, how about making it drinkable/useable?
    Ick.
