Congressman Mike Johnson delivered a Congressional update to attendees of the Natchitoches Chamber of Commerce luncheon Aug. 2. He represents nearly 760,000 residents of 15 parishes in the northwest and western regions of the state. Mike was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives on Dec. 10, 2016, by the largest margin of victory in his region in more than 50 years. He was appointed to the powerful House Judiciary Committee and two of its subcommittees – the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security, and the House Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations. He also serves on the House Natural Resources Committee, and on the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations as the vice chairman. He was also appointed to the Subcommittee on Water, Power and Oceans.
