NSU names 2017 Homecoming Honor Court

Mallory McConathy of Stonewall and Antavious Roberson of Arcadia were selected as queen and king of the 2017 Homecoming Honor Court at Northwestern State University.

McConathy and Roberson are part of a 22-member honor court, which will participate in activities during Homecoming Week at Northwestern State and will be presented at halftime of the Homecoming game against Central Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The court also includes Rebekah Aultman of Mangham, Noah Baudoin, Kendrick Payne and Jasmine Roberts of Shreveport, Rowdy Burleson of Mansfield, Cylandria Clemons of Tomball, Texas, Kennedy Cullen of Port Allen, Lydia Doucet of Lake Charles, Ashley Fortenberry and Ryan Wright of Natchitoches, Marquise Foster and Dedrick Lewis of Baton Rouge, Olivia Guidry of Opelousas, Abby Hinds of Many, Hunter Horton of Plain Dealing, Aly Jacobs of Houston, Kenedy Lampert of Deville, Michael Phelps of Bossier City, Trey Roberts of Pineville and Tyler Wright of DeRidder.

McConathy, the daughter of Brent and Julie McConathy, is a junior biology major. McConathy is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and Beta Beta Beta. She was a freshman orientation leader and is a member of Purple Jackets and Blue Key Honor Society, the Demon Days Welcome Week Committee and the President’s Leadership Program. McConathy is a national student member of Alpha Lambda Delta.

Roberson, the son of Suzette Cato and Anthony Roberson, is a senior elementary education major. Roberson is secretary of the Student Government Association and served as a freshman orientation leader. He is a member of the Demon Days Welcome Committee and the Demon Volunteers in Progress and was a mentor for the President’s Leadership Program. Roberson participated in the Capstone Leadership Program in 2015 and 2016.

Aultman, the daughter of Rick and Jean Aultman, is a junior strategic communications major and is active in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Purple Jackets and Order of Omega Honor Society. Aultman is a mentor in the Presidential Leadership Program and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta.

Baudoin, the son of Tom Baudoin, is a junior biology/resource management major with a biomedical concentration. Baudoin is a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and was named an Emerging Greek Leader. He is general manager of the campus radio station, KNWD-FM, a member of the American Society of Microbiology and a former Student Activities Board representative at large.

Burleson, the son of Robert and Ruth Ann Burleson, is a junior criminal justice major. Burleson is president of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and a mentor for the Presidential Leadership Program. Burleson was a freshman orientation leader.

Clemons, the daughter of Cynthia and Landrick Clemons, is a junior nursing major. Clemons is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and the Panhellenic Council. She is active in the Student Activities Board and Office of First Year Experience.

Cullen, the daughter of Paul and Celeste Cullen, is a junior business administration major. Cullen is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and is active in the Student Activities Board.

Doucet, a senior business administration major, is the daughter of Auddie Woodard. Doucet is vice president of the Student Activities Board. She is a member of the African-American Caucus, LaBelle Femme, Helping Hands and Circle K International.

Fortenberry, a senior business administration major, is the daughter of Fount and Lisa Fortenberry. A member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, she was a freshman orientation leader. She is a member of Demon Volunteers in Progress.

Foster, a senior computer information systems and business administration major, is the son of Jonella Foster and Darrell Piece. Foster is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. He is a member of he Demon men’s track and field team and was a top 10 finisher at the Southland Conference meet.

Guidry, a senior accounting major, is the daughter of Jody and Stephanie White. Guidry is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity where she serves as a vice president. She was a freshman orientation leader and a member of the Demon Days Welcome Week Committee, Demon Volunteers in Progress and Alpha Lambda Delta. Guidry held several leadership programs with the Student Activities Board and is a Presidential Leadership Program mentor.

Hinds, a senior health and exercise science, pre occupational therapy major, is the daughter of Amy and Rodney Wyatt and Eddy and Kristin Hinds. A member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, she serves as the organization’s president. She is a freshman orientation leader and student coordinator for the Office of First Year Experience. Hinds was named the 2017 Miss Northwestern State University. She was the 2016 Greek Woman of the Year and is a member of Purple Jackets, Order of Omega, Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Kappa Phi.

Horton, a senior hospitality management and tourism major, is the son of Brian and Teresa Hall. Horton is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity where he serves as president. He was a freshman orientation leader and is a staff member for the campus yearbook Potpourri. He is a member of the President’s Leadership Program and Alpha Lambda Delta and is active in the Student Activities Board. Horton is a public address announcer for the Demon athletic program.

Jacobs, a senior accounting major, is the daughter of Edmond and Connie Jacobs. Jacobs is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity where she serves as president. She is treasurer of the Student Government Association, a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and was a freshman orientation leader. Jacobs is a member of the Demon Days Welcome Committee, the Alpha Lambda Delta student/faculty liaison and a member of the President’s Leadership Program. She was second runner up in the recent Miss Northwestern-Lady of the Bracelet Pageant.

Lampert, a junior secondary education major, is the daughter of Loren and Lisa Lampert. A member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Lampert was on the Demon Days Welcome Week Committee. She is a member of the Purple Jackets and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies and the President’s Leadership Program.

Lewis, a senior business administration major, is the son of Trish Lewis. A member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, he is a member of the Ad Astra Society, which includes the top one percent of Pi Kappa Phi members. He is a member of the Interfraternity Council Executive Board and the Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band. Lewis is active in the Student Government Association and Student Activities Board. He is an assistant with the Presidential Leadership Program.

Payne is the son of Kendal and LaTreshia Payne. He is a senior business administration major. Payne is president of the Theta Chi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc. He is a secretary of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and a member of the African-American Caucus and Beta Alpha Psi.

Phelps, the son of Russell Phelps, is a junior business administration major. Phelps is a member of Phi Kappa Alpha, the Interfraternity Council and Alpha Lambda Delta. He was a freshman orientation leader.

Jasmine Roberts, a senior business administration major, is the daughter of Paula Roberts and Anthony Baylock. Roberts is active in the Student Government Association where she was named Commissioner of the Year. She is a member of Helping Hands, the African-American Caucus, Circle K International and LaBelle Femme.

Trey Roberts, son of Jodie and Brenda Roberts, is a senior psychology major. Roberts is vice president of the Student Government Association and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, the Interfraternity Council, Demon Volunteers in Progress and the President’s Leadership Program.

Ryan Wright, son of Ron and Susan Wright, is a senior computer information systems major. Wright is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and the Interfraternity Council. He is a member of Demon Volunteers in Progress, Alpha Lambda Delta and Epsilon Delta Pi Honor Society for the Computing Sciences. Wright was a freshman orientation leader.

Tyler Wright, son of Chris and Gina Wright, is a junior biology major. A member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, he was president of the Interfraternity Council. Wright is Student Government Association Student Affairs Commissioner and was Academic Affairs Commissioner in 2016-17. He was a freshman orientation leader, a Presidential Leadership Program mentor and a member of the Demon Days Welcome Week Committee. He is head of Demon Volunteers in Progress.
