Denise Roper, the band director at Lakeview Jr.-Sr. High School, was one of the six music teachers recognized for “25 Years of Service” at the 2017 Louisiana Music Educators Association convention in Baton Rouge on Nov. 20. In addition to this honor, Roper was one of the educators nominated for the “Bandmaster of the Year” Award by the Louisiana Bandmasters Association.
