Northwestern State University President Dr. Chris Maggio honored Louisiana’s First Lady Donna Edwards with an Nth Degree, a special award that recognizes an individual for meritorious service to others. The surprise presentation took place during the NSU Christmas Gala, a popular annual holiday showcase of the talents of students and faculty in NSU’s School of Creative and Performing Arts. Earlier in the day, Gov. Jon Bel Edwards was a guest at a meeting of the Board of Supervisors of the University of Louisiana System, of which NSU is one of nine university members, hosted on the Northwestern State campus.

Board members and their families were special guests at the Gala and Gala reception in anticipation of 91st annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival Dec. 2.
