DA announces probation revocation for Andrew Wallace

Natchitoches Parish District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced Dec. 22 that the 10th Judicial Court revoked the probation and the suspension of prison sentence for Andrew Jacob Wallace of Natchitoches during a probation revocation hearing.

In July 2014 Wallace pleaded guilty to simple burglary and subsequently sentenced to two years in prison, which was suspended if he successfully met the conditions of his probation requirements.

However, during his probation period, Wallace pleaded guilty in July 2017 to manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. His felony guilty plea in the manslaughter case violated the conditions of his original probation.

At the conclusion of the hearing, Judge Desiree Dyess revoked Wallace’s probation and ordered him to serve the original two-year prison sentence consecutive to the 20-year sentence he is currently serving for manslaughter.

“The defendant is now sentenced to 22 years in total for his felony crimes,” said Harrington.
