NPSO mourns the loss of a fellow Peace Officer

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened to hear the news this morning, Jan. 7, of former Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Beaudion being killed in the Line of Duty in a single-vehicle crash early this morning while working for Monroe Police in Monroe.

Louisiana State Police Troop F is investigating the early morning fatal crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that Beaudion, 26, was traveling south on South 2nd in his assigned Ford Crown Victoria when, for reasons still under investigation, he veered to the left. His vehicle then traveled across both northbound lanes and struck a tree.

Beaudion was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office. A routine toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The body of the deceased was sent for an autopsy and results are pending. The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office is assisting in this investigation, and the crash remains under investigation.

Officer Beaudion began his law enforcement career at the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Patrol Division and transferred to Monroe Police in 2016.

Sheriff Victor Jones and the deputies of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office extend our thoughts and prayers to the Monroe Police Department, and family and friends of Officer Chris Beaudion.

Chris will always be remembered by his family at the NPSO as a kind compassionate officer always with a smile, willing to learn and help anyone.

Officer Beaudion is survived by his wife, two children and immediate family.

Arrangments will be announced by Monroe Police at a later time.
