“The Knot,” the nations’s leading wedding planning website, has announced that Natchitoches musical group Johnny Earthquake & The Moondogs have been selected as a 2018 ­­winner in The Knot Best of Weddings, an award representing the highest-rated wedding professionals as reviewed by real couples, their families and wedding guests on The Knot, the #1 wedding resource.

In 2018, only 2 percent of the 250,000 local wedding professionals listed on TheKnot.com have received this distinguished accolade. To determine the winners, The Knot assessed almost one million reviews from real couples across the various vendor categories-venues, musicians, florists, photographers, caterers and more. These winners represent the best of the best for wedding planning professionals that a bride or groom would want to consider order to inspire, plan and pull off their own unique wedding.

“We were pretty shocked, to be honest,” said Moondog guitarist Adam Guillory, recalling the band’s reaction when they learned of the award. “We love playing for weddings and think we’re pretty good at it,” Guillory continued. “But we never dreamed we’d receive such a prestigious award from the country’s top wedding planning company. Especially two years in a row. It’s incredible!”

Guillory said it doesn’t hurt that Natchitoches has become a top wedding destination. “Although we play weddings all over,” he said. “Natchitoches is still our favorite place to play. We’re proud to be from Natchitoches and share this national award with our city.”
