LSMSA students perform well at LMEA assessment



Seven students from the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts performed in the Louisiana Music Educators Association’s District II instrumental solo/ensemble assessment on Saturday, March 3, at Alexandria Senior High School. All students received superior ratings along with a ribbon. The brass quartet received a superior rating and red ribbons.

Members are Julian Hunter, a senior from Lafayette; Juan Cecchini, a junior from Denham Springs; Jonas Truax, a junior from Denham Springs; and Garett Byrne, a senior from Walker. Solo performers earned superior ratings and blue ribbons. They include Clara Kolterman, a senior from Sterlington, flute; Hannah Hauptman, a junior from Denham Springs, French horn; Aaron Gotte, a sophomore from Iota, euphonium; Julian Hunter, trumpet; Garett Byrne, bass trombone; Juan Cecchini, French horn; and Jonas Truax, trombone.
