Natchitoches youth serve as Heralds at St. Denis Art League Spring Court

Four young ladies served as Heralds to the King and Queen of the St. Denis Art League’s Spring Court, held April 28.

Serving as Heralds to King Joseph Christopher Maggio were Miss Avery Elise Evans and Miss Kennedy Claire Griffin.

Avery is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Evans. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Ray Felchle and Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Bunyan Evans, Jr., all of Natchitoches. She is a second grader at St. Mary’s School. Avery loves dancing, playing the piano and especially horseback riding. Her sister Addison Elizabeth served as Herald to Queen Tori Prudhomme in 2016.

Kennedy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank David Griffin. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jan Courville Dupuis and the late Mr. Prescott James Dupuis, Mrs. Balinda Tauzin Michel and the late Mr. David Griffin. Kennedy is a third grader at St. Mary’s School where she was Student of the Month since Pre-K. She enjoys playing softball and basketball. She also attends summer camp.

Serving as Heralds to Queen Elizabeth Kate deVargas were Miss Lilly Ann Boyd and Miss Chloe Yvonne Methvin.

Lilly Ann is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Thomas Boyd. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nolton Wilburn Causey, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Boyd. She is a second grader at St. Mary’s School where she is a Terrific Kid. Lilly is a Level 3 Gymnast earning medals in beam, uneven bars, vault and floor routine. She also enjoys swimming and art. Her grandfather, Nolton Causey, was Spring Court King in 1999 and her aunt, the former Lisa Lanell Causey, was Queen in 1994. Her brother, Landon Clovis Sturdivant was presented as a Gentleman of the Court in 2014.

Chloe is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Chadwick Methvin. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas William Tubre and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Mead Methvin, all of Natchitoches. She is a second grader at St. Mary’s School. She is a member of the Showstopper’s Dance Team and Storm softball team. She enjoys hunting, shopping and art. Her mother, the former Jamie Tubre, was presented as a Lady of the Court in 1997.
