Hot temperatures and high humidity levels can result in heat index values rising to between 105 and 100 degrees. Very hot, humid, and dry conditions will continue across the region this weekend through early next week, as temperatures climb into the mid and upper 90s each day, with resultant heat indices nearing or exceeding 105 degrees.

The Dept. of Agriculture & Forestry labeled Natchitoches Parish in a Medium Fire Danger area according to its Daily Fire Weather Map (http://www.ldaf.state.la.us/daily-fire-weather/). Fires can start from most accidental causes, but the number of starts is generally low. Fires burn at moderate intensities, heavy fuel concentrations will burn hot.
