  1. The article states that the automobile had been reported stolen on 6/22. The woman driving it was arrested on 6/29. So may I ask why the owner was not called since obviously the police had the report that the vehicle was stolen, so they should have had the owner’s phone number. Instead the vehicle was impounded by a local wrecker service, which will cost the owner big bucks to pay for towing and impound charges. Impound lots typically close on Friday afternoon and open again on Monday morning, meaning there will be several days of impound charges. This same thing happened to a cousin, and it cost her about $500 to get her vehicle out. I always thought the police were supposed to help the victim and punish the offender. In this case, if the owner of the vehicle has to pay all the charges involved in getting it out of impound, he will be punished just as much as the offender. Just saying, a phone call is so easy for an officer to make, why not make it?
