2018 Zydeco Festival – a Labor Day Weekend Tradition Continues

Zydeco 2018 (9)

The Natchitoches Zydeco Festival, sponsored by the Cane River chapter of the Magnolia Peace Officers’ Association, took place over the Labor Day Weekend on the Natchitoches Riverfront Stage. The popular festival, in its 19th year, featured a scenic 100 mile motorcycle poker run as well as a full roster of Zydeco acts to keep the crowd entertained.

The festival ran through the day and into the evening as festivalgoers kept the dance area full. Headliner Marcus Ardoin & Da Zydeco Legends brought the festival to a fun filled close with a high energy set of Zydeco favorites and a Zydeco dance contest.

The festival is the signature fundraiser of the Cane River Chapter of the Magnolia Peace Officer Association. The 27 members of the Cane River chapter expect to raise around $5000.00 to further the group’s various philanthropic endeavors. Among the activities the association does during the year for the community are: Shop with a Cop, Thanksgiving program, Toys for Tots and a scholarship.
