Young at Heart met at First United Methodist Church on Oct. 3 for a meal and music by Home Grown Tomatoes, a local bluegrass band comprised of Geo and Jan Darfus, Dave Clark, Mary Koob and visitor Lesh Brown.
Visitors were Bro. Earnest and Clettie Self, who have played for the group before. After Prayer requests, thanks was led by Bro. Doug deGraffenried. Judy and Harvey Polk along with Linda and Dave Clark celebrated Anniversaries.
Birthdays for October were celebrated by Earnest Self, Jo Honeycutt and Nyle Parchim Jr.
After a singing Little Brown Church, Sunnyside of Life, Love God and Love each other, Have a Little Talk with Jesus, How Great are You Lord and The Circle shall not be Broken. They closed with The Last Song: A prayer for You.
There were 92 present and fall decorations were provided by Bostic-Bradley Circle. There will be a Thanksgiving meal and program by a local poet and ventriloquist John Ropp on Nov. 7.
