NPD Investigates City Employee for Felony Theft


The Natchitoches Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division received a complaint on Sept. 11 that a City of Natchitoches Employee was using a city issued fuel card to illegally purchase fuel for his personal vehicle and the vehicles of various other persons.

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) then began an extensive investigation into the reported theft(s) and investigators were able to uncover the theft of $833.39. Based on the evidence obtained by investigators a Warrant for the Arrest of Jacob Young was obtained and later executed.

Jacob Young, 24 of Natchitoches, was arrested on one count of Theft and transported out to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center where he was later released on a $1,500 Bond.

  1. Hmmm, a lot of he said she said they said here. How about we wait to see what the jury says when he is put on trial, if he ever is put on trial. People around here fuss about the good old boys network, yet when someone is arrested for possible wrongdoing, these same people shout “Snitch” to the person who turned them in. Which way do you want it, clean up the city or yell snitch when someone reports something wrong. You really can’t have it both ways. Wait until the verdict is in.

  3. obviously this young man is no player and has no family who works for the city
    just a bad deal,so maybe his new job at Walmart he will learn stealing doesn’t pay !
