Charitable organizations encouraged to apply for portion of proceeds from 5th annual NYP Pub Crawl, set for March 16

The Natchitoches Young Professionals (NYP), a subdivision of the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce, is set to host its 5th annual NYP Pub Crawl on Saturday, March 16 in downtown Natchitoches. The NYP Pub Crawl Committee is now accepting proposals from charitable organizations wishing to benefit from funds raised from the crawl.

The NYP Pub Crawl is open to anyone over the age of 21 with a valid driver’s license. Crawl the bricks of Front Street while enjoying pub crawl exclusive food and drink specials along the way (available to crawlers only). This crawl is also a Poker Run, with prizes awarded to the best poker hand, best individual costume and best group costume at the end of the night. Additional door prizes will be drawn throughout the evening (all crawlers who turn in a completed poker card are eligible for prizes).

Each crawler will receive an event t-shirt, goody bag, and two (2) free beers provided by our lead beer sponsor.

Registration is $30 per person until February 1, $35 per person from February 2-March 8, and $40 per person after March 8. Paid members of the Natchitoches Young Professionals receive a $5 discount. Visit nyppubcrawl.eventbrite.com to register or like us on Facebook at facebook.com/chambernyp.

An NYP Pub Crawl Pre-Party will be held on Friday, March 15 at 108 Mill St. (Old ADM site) from 3pm-7pm. Registered crawlers will be able to pick up their registration packets & t-shirts at that time. Those not able to attend the pre-party will be able to check-in as early at 3pm on Saturday, March 16 at the Natchitoches Riverbank Stage. Crawlers must complete their crawl and turn in their poker cards by 7pm when the Finisher’s Party begins.

This year’s Finisher’s Party will feature the Molly Ringwalds, and 80’s cover band from New Orleans. Those not participating in the Pub Crawl will be charged $10 per person to enter the riverbank stage area for the concert. Food & Beer trucks will be located on the riverbank as well.

This event will serve as the primary fundraiser for the 2nd annual Louisiana Young Professionals Conference (LYPC) hosted by the Natchitoches Young Professionals in downtown Natchitoches. LYPC will be held on July 18-19, 2019 and is open to anyone age 21-40 wishing to learn, grow and network as a young professional. A portion of the NYP Pub Crawl proceeds will also benefit a charity of choice, based on requests for proposals received. See attached RFP for details or visit natchitocheschamber.com to fill out an application. Volunteering for the event is a requirement to be eligible.

“When we started the NYP Pub Crawl 5 years ago, I think we had about 75 participants and hosted a small finishers party at a local downtown restaurant, which has been a great partner for us all these years,” said Dr. Haley Taitano. “Fast forward five years later and the NYP Pub Crawl has become the largest crawl in North Louisiana with over 400 participants. We are very excited to have the Molly Ringwalds headline the Finisher’s Party this year, and we hope to celebrate a 500-registrant milestone.”
