Congratulations to One of Our Nation’s Newest Citizens!

Our Nation grew a bit stronger this past Friday. The United States of America welcomed 69 new citizens from 34 different countries in a naturalization ceremony held in New Orleans, Friday, April 26th. Among them was First United Methodist Church’s Rev. Julia Puac-Romero.
Rev. Puac-Romero came to the United States as a small child with her parents in 1995. She grew up in the Methodist church in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School in 2010. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Centenary College and went on to study for the ministry at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago. She currently serves as an associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Natchitoches.
The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes to take this opportunity to congratulate Rev. Puac Romero and our fellow citizens sworn in that day and welcome them to full participation in our civic society. They, and the ones who went before them have made, and continue to make, our nation a better, stronger place.
