St. Mary’s Powerlifters competed at the 2019 National Powerlifting Tournament held in Alexandria on March 27. Jace Miley placed second in the Super Heavyweight Division at the Powerlifing Nationals Junior Varsity tournament , lifting a total of 1001 pounds. Mathew Thibodaux placed third in the Varsity Nationals Tournament tournament 2 days later, lifting a total of 1441 pounds. Both lifters recorded these totals lifting raw, without the use of supportive lifting gear. This was the first time St Mary’s participated in a national tournament in two decades.
